The "Small hive beetle (A. tumida), a native of South Africa, was detected in the United States in May 1998 and Coahila State, Mexico, 2008.Recientemente it has been reported in the State of Zacatecas showing his steady progress on the country of Norte.Además prophylactic measures recommended for treatment of hives, is to highlight the suggestion of removing the soil surrounding the hive to cut the reproductive cycle of the beetle.
